"TRANS/SISTER DE/SISTER (FRAGMENTS)"

by Sofie Vlaad

Trans/sister de/sister you walk with grace
wary of snakes in the grass who might harm
You stray from the garden to find your place
amongst others who share your strange charm
what can the soothsayer see without seeing
perchance some divine revelation
across the divide between woman and man
the body endless modification
each new assemblage a threshold you cross
each old collective again mourns your loss
from man to woman to man once again
Trans/sister de/sister you have no regret
for we all should be curious so
you flew with the Starfish across the sunset
to pure immanence, we dare not go
fluid is the heart that beats without blood
fresh are the scars of continual rebirth
temporal translations and representations
that cover the face of the Earth
are but movements of rest for one such as you
smoothings of space of which you pass through
nocturnal relations and great celebrations

Tiresias soothsayer true
