CREATION MYTH

by M. Darusha Wehm

eternal hacker metaphysicians
playing games with starlight

(not technically dice
nor technically gods
so Einstein's safe for now)

one hides the spider candy
inside glass rainbows

another kisses constellations
until they see an earth shape

coalesce inside a milkshake swimming pool
a cathedral forest grows from a misplay

but there are no do-overs
a card laid is a card played

sequoias
  waterfalls
    scorpions
      killer dolphins
        stepped pyramids
          kittens called Michael
            ordering online office groceries
              Tumblr
                seed banks
                  fusion rockets
                    orbital colonies
all knocking on the door asking

can we play
